Notice of Funding Opportunity Update: Year 1 Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Strategy for Telehealth Enhancements – Initiative 3: Connecting to Care to Improve Healthcare Access

The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) formally announces the withdrawal of the Telehealth Funding Opportunity originally scheduled under the Year 1 Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) funding cycle.

Due to consideration of available funds and administrative adjustments, Year 1 allocations for this specific initiative will not be awarded at this time. However, DCH fully intends to revisit and restructure this telehealth funding opportunity in subsequent RHTP funding years, subject to the continued availability and receipt of federal funds.

We appreciate the commitment of our rural healthcare partners to expanding digital health access. We encourage stakeholders to monitor the official GREAT Health portal and this site for future updates regarding subsequent funding cycles.

NOW OPEN: GREAT Health Rural Graduate Medical Education Development Grant Program

The Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce (GBHCW) is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity through Georgia's Rural Enhancement And Transformation of Health (GREAT Health) Program to support the expansion of Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs across rural Georgia.

The Rural Graduate Medical Education Development Grant Program is designed to strengthen physician workforce retention and recruitment by investing in GME program development in rural Georgia, prioritizing high-need specialties critical to rural health such as family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, general surgery, geriatrics, or psychiatry.

Funding may be used for planning, development, accreditation, and implementation activities directly related to establishing new GME programs or expanding existing programs.
